Meta Connect

is an annual conference organized by Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook, Inc.) that brings together developers, creators, and innovators to explore the latest advancements in technology and discuss the future of the metaverse. The event features keynote speeches, technical sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, and is attended by people from all over the world.

As a keynote designer, my role at Meta Connect 2023 was to create a visually engaging presentation for the keynote speakers, Andrew Bosworth (Boz) and Melissa Brown. I worked closely with script writers, cross functional teams, animators, vendors and creative directors to understand their message and objectives for the presentation. Their sections focused on the launch of the Meta Quest 3 headset, all of it’s use cases and upgraded functionality.

For this section I helped determine slide layout systems that would work throughout the entirety of the Quest Headset presentation.

I worked closely with other designers and PVG artists to create storyboards for animated headset shots to showcase the upgraded functionality. For example the ringless controllers, pancakes lenses, and the snapdragon graphics card that allows the headset to have a higher processing power.

For this section, I owned the collection of assets, designing layouts and transitions for the Gaming, Fitness, and Entertainment sections. As well assisted with Social and Business slides.

I created storyboards for animators to showcase the breath of content and new apps that would be coming to the quest store. I collaborated with cross functional Quest fitness teams to visualize their fitness launches. I worked with partners like Roblox, Xbox and Headspace to determine how Meta could showcase their partnerships.
