Study Proposals

A study proposal is a request to sponsor a research project. My role in these proposals was to provide a potential brand for the drugs or technology being studied. Proposals are evaluated on potential impact of the research plan. By providing designs, clients were able to envision their product with us, increasing our number of accepted proposals.

Below, you will find several examples of brands that I developed to help enhance the study proposal.

Clarity

The study name, Clarity-SM, refers to the goal of achieving a clear path forward in managing systemic mastocytosis (SM). It also represents a desire to be free from the “brain fog” that many SM patients experience. The name will resonate with potential study participants, who have tried other therapies for SM but are still experiencing symptoms.

The study logo uses colors that align with the clients brand to create subtle brand recognition. Bright orange over the “i” suggests a lightbulb or “aha!” moment, alluding to the study name. The same orange highlights the indication, linking this moment of hope with the patient population. Different textures in the dot over the “i” represent the complexity of SM and how each patient’s experience is unique

Athena

Athena is the Greek warrior goddess known for her marksmanship. The study name represents the targeted precision of the investigational product along with the strength and determination of the patients battling breast cancer.

The study logo uses shades of pink, commonly associated with breast cancer awareness. Navy complements the pink shades. Elements of the spear are symmetrical and rounded to contrast with the strength of the study name, providing balance and interest. The elongated leg of the “H” helps create Athena’s spear and ties into the theme of the IP’s ability to target and diminish cancer cells.

The Study Materials show how the CATHY logo, colors, and imagery are applied across patient items. Elements of the building blocks carry the brand throughout the materials. Abstract illustrations help make the material more inclusive for the broad range of potential study participants.

Canopy Program

The program name, Canopy, represents natural coverage and protection, connecting to the goal of developing a single cell therapy designed to treat, or prevent, multiple virus-associated diseases, and restore natural T-cell immunity. The name evokes images of trees providing comprehensive coverage, much like the Canopy program will consist of multiple studies working to create a single, comprehensive therapy.

The program logo uses a leaf icon with different shades of green to represent multiple trees forming a canopy. The logo’s that fall under the Canopy program use similar elements that complement one another and connect to the overarching theme.

Willow

The study name, Willow, is inspired by the unique approach to treating viral infections through restoring natural T-cell immunity. Like powerful T-cells in the body’s immune system, the willow tree is fast-growing, adaptable, and protective.

The willow tree also appeals to both adult and pediatric populations with its timeless beauty and whimsical shape.

Dawn

The study name, Dawn, draws inspiration from the sunrise, which symbolizes the beginning of a new day. The name prompts the audience to look to the future as the world works to develop an effective COVID-19 therapy, imagining what such a therapy would mean for them and their loved ones.

The study logo features an abstract representation of a sunrise. A shadow of the COVID-19 virus is mirrored below the sunrise, referencing both the indication and the idea of leaving behind the uncertainty of the past for a promising future. The color palette mimics a sunrise with its warm, cheerful colors, complemented by a pale blue to establish a tone both calming and hopeful.

Trailblazer

The study name is defined as an explorer or innovator. Study participants will be helping innovate a solid-tumor cancer therapy in this first-in-child research, blazing a trail towards a new, effective treatment.

The study logo uses a graphic to depict progression and movement, suggesting the creation of a new path. The gray lines represent a path not yet taken, while bright colors from Blueprint’s palette move along that path to signify progress. Vibrant colors will appeal to a pediatric audience.
